London is a city in the south of England. Its name was Londinium in Roman times. In this time only 45.000 people live there. Now, the population is about 7.5 million people.

 

Some places have important names in London. For example:             

Trafalgar Square (Battle of Trafalgar), Victoria Street (Queen Victoria), an others.

 

People of London are called Londoners or “Cockneys”. Some Londoners are famous, for example, Charlie Chaplin, it was an actor or Arthur Conan Doyle (writer of Sherlock Holmes stories).
